About Lesson
Before we start, imagine the following scenario
Think about a scenario when you are about to teach a class of both international and domestic students. You ask the students to form project groups consisting of four members. In one of the groups, the four local students sit together. In other groups, you have students from different countries, but they are also friends with each other. Then you notice a few confused students from different cultural backgrounds. They do not know anyone and they cannot communicate with each other.
Now, think how you can support this last group.
- Do you feel adequately prepared in solving their intercultural communication challenges?
- Are you aware they had intercultural communication challenges?
If your answers to both questions were no, then let’s see why intercultural communication is important.
